These are the results of
a test performed at the T. Blench Hydraulics Lab at the University of Alberta,
Edmonton, Canada.
A Magnum sensor was compared
to a laser doppler Annemometer (LDA) while measuring submerged flow
below a steamlined gate in a rectangular channel of width 460 mm and a
gate opening of 140 mm.
The Magnum faithfully follows
the LDA profile. It is indicated that the Magnum sensor can be very reliable
for the measurement of velocities even in flows with large velocity gradients. |
